1. About Coast
Coast (formerly JSON.fit) is a fitness and nutrition app, built and operated by Ryan Novinc (a sole trader based in Australia), that helps you build and track training programs and meal plans. You answer a few questions and the app builds your plan on your device. If you choose, you can instead have the app generate a prompt, paste it into an AI service of your choice (such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini), and import the result back into the app to track it. The app lets you:
- Import, manage and track workout routines and training programs
- Build personalised meal plans and track macros
- Plan health-conscious meals around dietary restrictions
- Build shopping lists, with your own prices if you add them
- Track weight and follow meal-prep and cooking guidance
By downloading or using Coast, you agree to these Terms.
2. The app is free
Coast is free to use. There are no subscriptions and no in-app purchases — all features, including the full nutrition and meal-planning tools, are available at no cost. We do not process or store any payment information.
3. Your data
Your workout routines, meal plans, health information and other personal fitness data are stored locally on your device — we do not collect or upload them. To improve the app and website we collect anonymous, non-identifying usage analytics, and we don't show ads or sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
4. Third-party AI services
Coast does not include or run its own AI. If you choose to build a custom plan with AI, you choose and use a separate, third-party AI service (for example ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or DeepSeek). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not ours, and any account or fees for them are between you and that provider.
AI-generated plans are produced by those third-party services, can contain errors or omissions, and are general information only — not medical, dietary or professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing anything an AI generates before relying on it, and for deciding whether it is appropriate for you.
5. Health and nutrition disclaimers
Important health notice: Coast provides general nutrition and fitness information for educational purposes only. It is not intended to replace professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making significant dietary or training changes
- Meal plans, calorie figures and macro calculations are estimates and may not meet your individual needs
- Food allergies and medical conditions require professional supervision
- Not suitable for pregnant or nursing people without medical approval
- Stop use and consult a doctor if you experience any adverse reaction
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use the app for your own personal fitness and nutrition purposes. Please don't attempt to reverse engineer, modify, resell or redistribute the app, or use it in any unlawful way.
7. Intellectual property
The Coast app, website, branding and content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Plans and data you create for yourself remain yours.
8. Limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, for fitness tracking and nutrition planning. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any injury, health issue, allergic reaction, nutritional deficiency, or loss arising from your use of the app or of any plan it helps generate. You acknowledge that fitness and nutrition needs are highly individual and that our content may not be suitable for your specific circumstances. Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory and the Commonwealth of Australia. Where you use the app in another country, you remain responsible for complying with any local laws that apply to you.
10. Updates and changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last Updated" date above, and continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
